For the first time in India, private sector will have end-to-end capabilities in this critical naval technology segment.

This is expected to reduce the total dependence on overseas repair ecosystems.

Major Boost to Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defense

Marine propulsion systems are highly specialized strategic technologies important for the defense.

India has traditionally heavily relied on the foreign technical support for maintenance and servicing in this segment.

This Bharat Forge project could change that.

The move also aligns directly with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission to build self-reliance in critical defense technologies.

R&D and Future Indigenous Development

Bharat Forge will also establish the well equipped R&D and testing hub as part of the project.
