The Women’s Asia Cup is the main regional cricket event featuring teams from across Asia, which is managed by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Women’s Asia Cup Format Evolution
The event made its debut in 2004 as an ODI event. Its initial four tournaments that were held in 2004, 2005-06, 2006, and 2008, were conducted under the ODI format.
Starting from 2012, the event switched to the T20I format, which has been maintained ever since.
This evolution is a result of the increasing prominence of women’s T20 cricket at the international level.
